Katrin Cartlidge Foundation Patron BINGHAM RAY dies, 23 January 2012

"Visionary, film buff, pioneer of independent cinema, brilliant producer, legendary distributor and one of the funniest men ever, Bingham Ray was a great friend and supporter of this Foundation.

He knew well and loved Katrin, having been close to us during the making of NAKED, and having later distributed BREAKING THE WAVES and CAREER GIRLS.

It was he that broke the news to me of her untimely death at the 2002 Toronto Film Festival. His grief then was immense and inconsolable, as is ours now. His passing is truly tragic, and will be felt by innumerable people around the movie world."

Mike Leigh - Patron
